Seventh Chakra: Crown Chakra
The seventh chakra located at the top of the head connects us to our higher consciousness. When off balance there may be depression, an inability to learn, rigid thoughts on religion, constant confusion and a fear of alienation. When in balance we live in the now with a strong trust in our inner guidance.
- The seventh chakra, Sahasrara meaning;crown, thousand-fold petaled lotus.
- Is the center of godliness, illumination, and spiritual enlightenment.
- The center of the crown is the Supreme Spirit, Antaratman.
- The seventh chakra is also governed by the planet MERCURY/Uranus, representing network to the infinite interrelated connections. Ruled by Virgo.
1000 Lotus Petals of the Sahasrara –
Or to some 960 lotus petals. For Hindus the 1 and 0’s represent infinity.
Whereas, 960 is the mathematical equivalent of the first five chakras added together (4+6+10+12+16) multiplied by the two petals of the 6th chakra, ten times.
The Sanskrit Letters on the petals of the lotus are shining bright radiating the 50 mantras of Sahasrara to all of the petals of the first six chakras.
In the center is the circular moon region, shining with countless brilliant rays of light.
Ancient texts state that the petals of the crown chakra downward, hugging the skull. The petals are believed to be a lustrous white, with a soft red/pinkish hue.
Each chakra is embedded with qualities called vrittis (whirlpools) which are thought-forms or emotions held within the chakra.

Balancing Sahasrara Chakra Energy:
Healing Through the Five Senses
Mudra & Mantra
Close your eyes and begin to chant the mantra “OM ANG or AUM” for 3 minutes. First out loud for a few rounds, then silently to yourself. While chanting, I would like you to visualize a bright violet or white energy penetrating your crown chakra from the front and back of your being. This beautiful violet light is cleansing and energizing your Sahasrara chakra into the glowing lotus flower chakra it is. Also, keep in mind any sensations, colors, pictures or words you might experience, these are all messages from the divine.
